The traffic count data collected is uploaded into a searchable database. The AADTs for traffic count sites are rounded using the following convention: Volume Occasionally, at the request of local jurisdictions and other special circumstances, speed counts are taken, providing various reports on vehicular speed, time of day, etc. Vehicle classification counts have also been taken, wherein the traffic volume is reported in various formats by the type of vehicle (cars, buses, various sized trucks, etc.). The data is then downloaded and processed using specially designed software. Factors developed and provided by MDOT (axle factors, monthly factors and annual increase factors) are then applied to the raw count data to derive the Annualized Average Daily Traffic (AADT) count for each location. In addition to the regularly schedule traffic counts, numerous other special counts will be taken to support specific transportation planning projects, or at the request of local governments for various reasons.Īll traffic counts conducted by GRPC meet MDOT and Federal Highway Administration criteria for data collection activities. They are taken using automated tube counters for a period of not less than 48 hours. It is the backbone of Michigan’s 120,000-mile highway, road and street network. In addition, we collect data on approximately 50 of the higher volume roadways and streets in anticipated growth areas annually, while another 170 sites are scheduled to be counted every other year. This allows us to keep our finger on the pulse of growth and change in our community. The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is responsible for Michigan’s nearly 10,000-mile state highway system, comprised of all M, I, and US-routes. All of the MDOT count sites are scheduled in accordance with MDOT’s triennial schedule. 85% of which, are at MDOT designated count locations. We collect travel data at sites along major roadways and other routes in support of the regional planning process, as well as to fill a jurisdiction’s particular need. In 1998, GRPC entered into an agreement with MDOT, whereby GRPC began collecting all of MDOT’s scheduled volume counts within the three county region.įollowing a detailed schedule, the program staff “Road Warriors” collect traffic data at approximately 1,300 sites. GRPC’s Transportation Planning Division has been conducting its traffic volume data collection (traffic counts) program in Hancock, Harrison and Jackson counties for over thirty years.

![]() What is the current situation with supply? HRT can help relieve most menopausal symptoms, including hot flushes, night sweats, mood swings, vaginal dryness and reduced sex drive. Hormone replacement therapy (HRT) is a treatment to relieve symptoms by replacing hormones that are at a lower level as women approach the menopause. ![]() Women are having to deal with a shortage in hormone replacement therapy (HRT) supplies amid rising demand for such treatment. The findings are set to be highlighted in a new documentary presented by Davina McCall, who has raised awareness about her own battle with the menopause. They said taking HRT as soon as menopausal symptoms begin can protect against these changes. The researchers, from Weill Cornell Medical College in New York and the University of Arizona, spotted the changes after examining brain scans from 161 women aged 40 to 65 and comparing them against 125 men of the same age. They believe changes in the hypothalamus, which regulates body temperature, are behind hot flushes, while a drop in oestrogen interferes with energy levels in the brain, which could cause brain fog. It comes as scientists today urged women to take HRT treatments to protect against menopause-related brain changes.Ī team of US researchers found menopause - when women stop having periods and oestrogen levels decline - 'reshapes the brain' by reducing grey matter and affecting blood flood. Labour MP Carolyn Harris, co-chairman of the UK menopause taskforce, told The Mail last week that it was ‘exploitative of women’. There is no suggestion these online pharmacies, registered with the Care Quality Commission, are handing out unsafe medicine. The Independent Pharmacy prices a three-month supply of Estradot and Sandrena – an Oestrogel alternative – at £75 each. is selling one month's worth of Estradot patches for £32, although women can normally get a three-month supply for £9.35 on the NHS. Pharmacy Planet is rationing its sales of Oestrogel to one-month batches due to 'limited stock', but at £42 each.Īlternatives to Oestrogel have also taken a hit as women switch to different medication until stocks are replenished. Prices vary wildly, however, with Oxford Online Pharmacy selling the same product for £49.99. There has been a big increase in women seeking HRT, with an estimated 538,000 prescriptions issued in December, compared with 238,000 in January 2017.Īs a postcode lottery means many are looking online for HRT, some online pharmacies have also been found to be selling a three-month supply of Oestrogel for £80. Those who have prescriptions longer than three months will not have to pay an extra charge. The move, which affects Oestrogel, as well as Ovestin cream and Premique low-dose tablets, is the first to address supply issues since the appointment of HRT tsar Madelaine McTernan. MailOnline found the products online on Friday - the same day the Government announced a ration on some HRT products to a three-month supply. One still had a prescription slip on the packaging and the seller claimed they had received a 'duplicate order'. There are fears some women could be priced out of crucial treatments just as the cost-of-living crisis bites. One seller, based in Uxbridge, London, charged £40 for one month's supply, and £5.55 for postage. Another seller from Bristol listed the same 80gram pump for £39.99 and £4.99 for delivery. MailOnline found three eBay listings for Oestrogel, a drug which is used by around 30,000 women in the UK and is particularly low in stock. It came as a US study published today indicated the menopause can physically 'reshape the brain' - sometimes irreversibly. Shortages and poor planning mean thousands have been unable to get drugs to help ease menopause symptoms such as low mood, brain fog and hot flushes. MPs have warned desperate women are being 'exploited' after it emerged over the weekend private pharmacies are also hiking up their prices. The most popular type of oestrogen gel was selling for £40 on the online marketplace last week - quadruple the NHS prescription charge of £9.35. British sellers are charging up to four times the NHS price for HRT medication on eBay as they cash in on a national shortage, MailOnline can reveal. The control panel is accessed via its menu bar icon, and displays everything you need: In any case, the app works great with AVI and other file types that I’ve tried, and I wouldn’t consider these issues a serious problem.īesides, there’s a full-featured 7-day trial that you can download and install to make sure it works well on your Mac and with your own media files before committing to a purchase.ĪirParrot 2’s Control Panel displays everything you need to use the appĪirParrot 2 is also remarkably easy to use. Then again, MKV files were always finicky to begin with, so I’m not sure how much AirParrot is to blame here. MKV files in particular were a little finicky to play and would cause the occasional crash. This is completely normal in a major new version of any app, and it’s nothing critical. Now, in my experience, there were still a few bugs when using Media Streaming. You can adjust video transcoding quality in the Media Streaming Preferences tab This is a fantastic feature that essentially allows you to enjoy all the benefits of AirPlay with non-iTunes compatible files: you get buttery-smooth playback, playback control via Apple remote, lossless 5.1 surround sound, etc. AirParrot 2 introduces a new feature called Media Streaming that allows you to directly play media files on your Apple TV - or any other compatible receiver. That’s already pretty sweet, but there’s more. ![]() The Mirroring Preferences tab allows you to fine-tune performance for your particular machine This enables older Macs to enjoy the same features as the newer machines. AirParrot 2 also allows you to customize the audio and video transcoding quality to fine-tune performance for every Mac. ![]() If you’re running Yosemite, chances are your Mac will be more than capable to handle it. It’s a small app that lets you do screen-mirroring from any decently-specced Mac: it only requires a Mac with an Intel Core 2 Duo processor and 1 GB of RAM. And if your Mac is more than three years old, screen-mirroring is probably not supported to begin with.ĪirParrot 2 can solve all of these problems. It doesn’t create a buffer, which makes it extremely prone to jittering issues, and it doesn’t allow you to control playback with an Apple remote, which makes it a lot less convenient to use. Screen-mirroring works great for sharing your desktop or giving a presentation but in my experience, it’s really not ideal for watching video. Newer Macs (from 2011 on) can find a way around this by screen-mirroring their desktops to the Apple TV using AirPlay. But what about all those MKV and AVI files you’ve collected over the years? With AirPlay, you’re out of luck. ![]() However, as with most Apple technologies, there are several areas where AirPlay falls short.įor instance, AirPlay doesn’t support audio or video transcoding, so you can only play iTunes-compatible media from your Mac to your Apple TV. It works great and it’s the perfect way to watch all of your iTunes movies and TV shows on your big-screen TV instead of on your device. So Fantasian is worth paying attention to if you’re a Final Fantasy fan, particularly when it comes to the classics.1997. Mistwalker has also confirmed that the game will be composed by Nobuo Uematsu, the man behind almost every classic Final Fantasy soundtrack. In the 2010s, his team was best known for their work on the Terra Wars mobile games.įantasian definitely seems to be more in line with his classic games, so RPG fans with Apple Arcade should definitely check it out. While there, he helped create several modern JRPG classics like Lost Odyssey and Blue Dragon. Hironobu Sakaguchi is best known for creating the Final Fantasy at Square Enix before he left to form Mistwalker in 2004. ![]() Who is Hironobu Sakaguchi and what is Mistwalker? Hopefully, with how popular the game is and how many comments on the reveal trailers say they’d like to see it on more platforms, Mistwalker can port the game to more systems in the future. The experience is tailored for mobile, with Sakaguchi telling IGN Fantasian’s design was inspired by the fact that players have to use their hands to interact with the world on a phone’s screen.įor now, don’t expect the game on Nintendo Switch, PS5, Windows PCs, or Xbox Series X anytime soon. That means it will be available across Mac, iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV devices. As of March 2020, Fantasian is currently only slated for Apple Arcade. This system is shown off in detail in the game’s features, which you can check out below: This system lets players store those encounters before fighting up to 30 enemies at once. Random enemy encounters are a staple of JRPGs, but they can get annoying. The most innovative part of Fantasian’s gameplay is the Dimengeon system, which allows players to store enemy encounters. In Fantasian, players can actually aim their shots and get bonuses if they manage to hit certain objects in the battle. Battles play out with a turn-based system that works through each character in battle. What is the Dimengeon in Fantasian?įantasian looks to be a fairly straightforward turn-based RPG with a couple of standout gimmicks when it comes to gameplay. Inverse reached out to Mistwalker to learn more about this process but has not heard back yet. “It kind of jogs the imagination in a way we didn't think it would, and it expands how you might want to design the game or that particular map,” Sakaguchi told IGN in an interview posted alongside the game’s announcement in March 2020. One of the beautiful dioramas that is part of Fantasian’s world. This gives every environment in the game a distinct and beautiful look, especially for a mobile game. Mistwalker claims that over 150 miniature dioramas were made by people from Japan’s “Tokusatsu” special effects industry who worked on films like Godzilla and Attack on Titan. You might not be able to tell from that reveal trailer, but every area in Fantasian is made up of an actual diorama. ![]() While much of the game’s story remains a mystery, Fantasian is certainly an intriguing mix of fantasy and sci-fi, and it’s delivering its story in a way much different than any of Sakaguchi’s recent projects. These will be presented like mini novels with unique art and music. Mistwalker will deliver some of the game’s story unconventionally as players will have to find various memories scattered around the game’s world to get more detailed information. “As players set out on a journey to reclaim Leo’s memories, they will unravel the mysteries of the bizarre mechanical infection slowly engulfing all that is known to mankind,” the premise teases. “Within this multi-dimensional universe, the balance of “Chaos and Order” becomes a key factor in the struggle for these realms and the machinations of the gods who wish to control them.”įrom there, the player’s journey begins as a man named Leo awakens with amnesia following a massive exposition. ![]() ![]() The description of the story trailer above reveals our first details about Fantasian’s narrative: “The tale begins in a realm governed by machines,” the premise reads. |
